Our primary objective here at IHWT is to re-home the horses that pass through our gate into suitable, caring and loving homes. These horses in many cases have been fully rehabilitated. In some cases suitable foster homes come up where they are prepared to take a neglected animal and take full responsibility and cost to nurse this animal back to health.
We encourage all horse lovers to consider the option of fostering a horse, from our facility. As many of our foster owners will tell you it is always a hugely rewarding experience.

IF you are looking for a horse or Pony at the IHWT we classify our horses in the following sections to allow people to know what the capabilities and limitations of each horse are.
- The Ponies – An assortment of ponies are available
- Companion horses- Horses due to injuries or abuse who are not suitable for riding
- Flatwork- Due to some injuries these horses are only suitable for light hacking and flatwork and cannot be hunted, or show jumped or evented due to predisposed injuries
- Youngstock: foals/yearlings/youngstock – unbroken
- Competition Horses- Not a novice ride, experience essential, these horses can be used for eventing and other disciplines
- Hacking only
