Now aged 16, Moscow Flyer was a top-class National Hunt horse over distances between 2 miles and 2 1/2 miles. He won the Queen Mother Champion Chase in 2003 and 2005, the Tingle Creek Chase in 2003 and 2004 and the Arkle Challenge Trophy in 2002. The winner of 27 of his 45 career starts, Moscow Flyer was easily one of the greatest steeplechasers of the last thirty years and he retired from racing in April 2007 having amassed an incredible total of €1,748,328.20 in prize money.
